  • Business’s make, or should make, strategic decisions everyday – short or long term. Tactical decisions aimed at growing the value and market positioning their company. Principally these decisions are financially based, focussed on core business and productivity, and aimed at better management and operational outcomes. Rarely, do these same principles apply to the association of office accommodation and productivity/bottom line returns. Darren Bilsborough’s well researched, practical and insightful guide makes this case powerfully and succinctly and is a must for any Chairman, CEO or CFO as they prepare to make major accommodation decisions for their business. Bilsborough’s long and varied experience, practical expertise and strategic intelligence comes across as an unique approach an often overlooked component of best practice business thinking.

  • This book takes the obvious aspects of relocating to new premises (why, what, how, where, when), and incorporates them into these aspects of business strategy, connecting office characteristics with productivity and marketing. It is brilliantly simple and as useful for a small operation as a large one. Support is available, both generic and tailored and costed accordingly. I don’t know why anyone considering a move wouldn’t read this first. It can be done on a plane flight. I guarantee that you’ve never thought about your office this strategically. So many years building offices and running businesses has obviously given the author a unique appreciation of what buildings can and should do for a business.

  • Are you involved in making decisions on your organization’s real estate needs? If so, this is an ideal book to help guide you. However, it is more than that. It is also a critical text for all in leadership positions as it puts the decisions in a more thought provoking and strategic, business context. It is written clearly in a logical, easy to read format which will assist those with limited time. The author is well qualified and has practical experience which I’m sure everyone who reads this book will find helpful.

Darren’s vast insight and experience comes through clearly but is easily read and digested resulting in multiple “why didn’t I think of that” moments. Michael Pesch – Regional Director NSW, WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff

Darren has the outrageous ability to challenge broadly-accepted principles in our way of thinking and presenting compelling suggestions as to why we should reconsider some of our established conventions. No less so with his latest publication which questions our pre-conceived ideas about our workspace. In this age of establishing new work ecologies, Darren makes the compelling argument that choosing the right office space makes perfect business sense and provides an opportunity to empower our people to thrive.
